Recorded eight new songs today! I wrote a few of the songs while touring Europe in February. They're dark but have a huge Stooges influence too.......I saw Iggy Pop at his 60th birthday party at The Warfield in April, and the energy of that show went into the making of this record.
Here's the track list:
1. Little Gods
2. Mighty Man
3. Five Arms to Hold You
4. Overrun
5. Say It
6. Life at Sea
7. Haunted
8. Too Low for Zero

I'm coming to Europe in February to do a solo tour. I'm bringing my guitar and computer 'cause it seems like thats all you need nowadays:) I've been experimenting with programming and different sounds, and I've created a new set of material for European clubs. I've been discovering some great European bands this year too, and made many new friends. I hope this will be the first of many tours to Europe.
European Tour Schedule:

11.28.06: San Francisco, CA // The Makeout Room // Pirate Cat Radio Benefit
Thanks so much to the huge crowd that showed up to support Pirate Cat Radio, one of the BEST radio stations in the Bay Area. The bands were red hot. I really enjoyed Lisa Dewey and The Mayfire, and I hope to play with them again sometime. Also, we were fortunate to have Ralph Spight sitting in on bass. We had a great time playing - just a fun night all around. |

Went into Fantasy studios today and recorded six new songs with Michael Rosen. We got a mood on tape right away. Sean and Eric riffed off each other and cut these huge sonic landscapes......it was an amazing day.
The record is especially meaningful because I wrote about the punk explosion in the 80's, and some of the friends I lost in those days. I've always wanted to write something in honor of them. I'm a Scorpio you know! I don't write fluff.......anyhow, the tunes are really different too - from the dark, mysterious sounding "Nighttime People in a Daytime World", to pop rock in "Fear is the New Black" to the Romeo Void-inspired "Bright As We Can Shine ". I think we got something supernatural recorded today. |

We started rehearsals today at The Uptones studio in Berkeley. I'm able to put my guitar down and just sing for the first time EVER, 'cause we've got a powerhouse of a band! Sean Griffin and Eric Din on guitars, Larry Dekker on bass and Bebop Bill on drums. The songs have a lot more depth with the melodic bass lines, simple and steady drums, and the guitars flowing in and out of each other.......there's something really cool stirring here....
